BODY BUILDING

Bodybuilding is the use of progressive resistance exercise to control and develop one’s musculature. An individual who engages in this activity is referred to as a bodybuilder. In competitive amateur and professional bodybuilding, bodybuilders appear in lineups doing specified poses, and later perform individual posing routines, for a panel of judges who rank competitors based on criteria such as symmetry, muscularity and conditioning. Bodybuilders prepare for competition through a combination of dehydration, fat loss, oils, and tanning (or tanning lotions) which make their muscular definition more distinct. Well-known bodybuilders include Charles Atlas, Steeve Reeves, Reg Park, Arnold Schwarzenegger and Lou Ferrigno. The winner of the annual Mr. Olympia contest is generally recognized as the world’s top male bodybuilder. The title is now held by IFBB professional Phil Heath of the United States. ME

apnMy name is Arto Painilainen. I am a Finnish fitness and lifestyle coach, who started body building or at least weight training over 50 years ago. I was at the beginning a skinny 120 pounded, but managed to increase my weight 80 pounds. In the year 1999 doctors diagnosed my bone marrow cancer, that made me lose almost all my muscles. Now my cancer has been in a remission 18 years. Because all the damages that cancer caused to my body, I can’t do most demanding exercises with big weights such as the dead lift, barbell squat and bench press. Thanks heaven, there are thousands safety exercises to do instead of those three.

All medicines are meant to be for sick people, not you, because they usually have dangerous side-effects. Don’t be as stupid as me in my younger days, when I used anabolic steroids and testosterone. I do not know if the reason for my cancer was those medicines, maybe. Anyway, keep out from illegal doping! Be a natural bodybuilder! Keep the health as the most important thing in all your life, physically and mentally … today and forever!

FINLAND

Finland (Listeni/ˈfɪnlənd/; Finnish: Suomi [suomi] ( ); Swedish: Finland [ˈfɪnland]), officially the Republic of Finland, is a Nordic country situated in the Fennoscandian region of Northern Europe. It is bordered by Sweden to the west, Norway to the north, Russia to the east and Estonia to the south over the Gulf of Finland.

As of 2013, Finland’s population, of which 90% are Finns who speak Finnish, was around 5.5 million, with the majority concentrated in its southern regions. In terms of area, it is the eighth largest country in Europe and the most sparsely populated country in the European Union. Finland is a parliamentary republic with a central government based in the capital of Helsinki, local governments in 336 municipalities and an autonomous region, the Åland Islands. About one million residents live in the Greater Helsinki area (consisting of Helsinki, Espoo, Vantaa and Kauniainen), which also produces a third of the country’s GDP. Other large cities include Tampere, Turku, Oulu, JyväskyläLahti and Kuopio.

From the late 12th century until 1809, Finland was part of Sweden, a legacy reflected in the prevalence of the Swedish language and its official status. It then became an autonomous Grand Duchy within the Russian Empire until the Russian Revolution, which prompted the Finnish Declaration of Independence. This was followed by a civil war where the pro-BolshevikReds” were defeated by the pro-conservative “Whites” with support from the German Empire. After a brief attempt to establish a monarchy, Finland became a republic. Finland’s experience of World War II involved three separate conflicts: the Winter War (1939–1940) and Continuation War (1941–1944) against the Soviet Union and the Lapland War (1944–1945) against Nazi Germany. Following the end of the war, Finland joined the United Nations in 1955 and established an official policy of neutrality. Nevertheless, it remained fairly active on the world stage, joining the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) in 1969, the European Union in 1995, and the eurozone at its inception in 1999.

Finland was a relative latecomer to industrialisation, remaining a largely agrarian country until the 1950s. Thereafter, it rapidly developed an advanced economy while building an extensive Nordic-style welfare state, resulting in widespread prosperity and one of the highest per capita incomes in the world. Subsequently, Finland is a top performer in numerous metrics of national performance, including education, economic competitiveness, civil liberties, quality of life, and human development. For instance, in 2010 Newsweek chose Finland as the best country in the world. Finland is also a member of the United Nations, the Council of Europe and the World Trade Organization.
